Book My Table AKA BMT is a mobile application built with the purpose of making the process of reserving a table at a restaurant from both the customer and the restaurant owner’s end smooth and efficient. This application enables the customer to view, select and request for the reservation of a table at the restaurant of their choice and at the owner’s end it enables him/her to accept or reject the request based on the availability.
The client always found it a waste of time and energy to go to a restaurant and then finding out that there were no tables available at that moment. At the same time there were no such applications where in the customer could book a table for any restaurant in a single place. The client wanted an app that could solve this problem in a creative way.
Our development team built this application using flutter where in the restaurant owners can register their restaurants with all their details and the customers can view these restaurants and based on the details, request to reserve a table. The owner can accept or reject this request based on the availability. This saves a lot of time and energy for both the owner and customer there by making the process smooth.
One of the main challenges faced during this project was on the owner’s end while cancelling the table request. Initially the owner could cancel the request only at the time when the request was made and not later in the future. To overcome this challenge our developers added a history feature which displayed the list of all incoming requests and from there these requests could be cancelled at any time/moment.
